The Deeper Importance of Organizational Culture

Organizational culture is a hard asset for businesses. However, through our experience in consulting, PeopleWorks has seen too many executives treat it as an abstract black-box. Because it’s tricky to define, the organizational culture is left to evolve on its own. But PeopleWorks, defying the norm, can take your company’s culture and then define it, measure it, analyze it, and improve it.

Because organization culture is, by nature, difficult to define, PeopleWorks undertakes the beginning of our consultation with our Culture Alignment Assessment. It’s a multi-faceted assessment, but it’s been proven with outstanding results.

To begin, we draw from three key data points: customer perspective, an online survey tool created by us, and (based on survey feedback) a set of interviews with a cross-section of employees.

The primary goal of PeopleWorks is to improve five Culture Leading Indicators (CLIs):

  1. Organizational Perspective
  2. Organizational Values
  3. Leadership Behavior
  4. Work Systems
  5. Work Practices

A measurement process we use to measure the CLIs is the Make Change Stick methodology. This works to change the way executives, managers, and supervisors within an organization lead their teams. The result is a cohesive group prepared to tackle any challenge.

Once all of the data is compiled from our assessments, we now have a solid picture of your culture, as opposed to an idea. With this graspable concept, we present the organization culture’s summary, strengths and gaps, and recommendations after compilation and analysis.

The ultimate goal is to create an ongoing process that constantly improves the five CLIs. When this is done, you now possess a positive organizational culture. The benefits of a positive culture are innumerable; it results in better applicants, more qualified employees, happier customers, honest relationships, more transparency between workers, an increase in innovation, and more.

Change is inevitable, but it can be positive. If you want your company to be desirable by clients and employees, call PeopleWorks at 800-505-3978.
